NBA groom gets cold feet

By Mike Krumboltz | Yahoo! Buzz

Most weddings go off without a hitch. But every once in a while, the blessed event gets a surprise twist. This past weekend, NBA star Richard Jefferson's wedding left guests asking a big question: "Where the heck is the groom?"

According to the New York Post, Jefferson was scheduled to marry former New Jersey Nets dancer Kesha Ni'Cole Nichols. Alas, a few days before the big day, Jefferson called off the ceremony and broke up with his fiancée.

Unfortunately, nobody told a significant number of guests. Many showed up at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City expecting to see a bride, a groom, some vows, and a kiss. Instead they found that Jefferson had gone MIA. However, he did lend his friend his AMEX Black credit card and told him to treat the guests to a fun night without him.

The confusion led to some spectacular spikes in Search. Lookups on "richard jefferson wedding" surged 5,687%, and interest in the jilted bride was similarly enthusiastic. Queries on "kesha ni'cole nichols pictures" went from zip into the thousands overnight.

According to various sources from the Buzz, the wedding cost around $2 million. Next time, may we suggest city hall?

Jill Scott is Pregnant

In an entry from a Jill Scott fan page on Facebook the powerful singer and actress spills the beans.

"Jill Scott is pregnant with her first child, our beloved soul singer and actress revealed to reporters at the Television Critics Association conference in Los Angeles on Friday.

Promoting her new HBO series The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency, based on the popular novels by Alexander McCall Smith, Scott said she discovered that she was pregnant just before leaving for Botswana where she filmed the show.

"The first trimester I spent in Botswana," said the star, who is due April 25. "That was one of the biggest challenges of my life. First trimester! You're sick every morning. It was seven hours time difference, the heat, the bugs, the 14 hour days."

Still, the actress, who is engaged to drummer Lil' John Roberts, says she's glad she went through with the plans to film. "My doctors gave me a clean bill of health and said you can do this, so I did it."

Scott, 36, is a three-time Grammy Award winner and star of the 2007 Tyler Perry film Why Did I Get Married?"

Beyonce brought the house down with her performance of Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)!

- sandrarose.com, October 28, 2008

See the tranny choreographer in Beyonce’s Single Ladies video. I had no clue because I was mostly focused on Beyonce and the other female. My source confirms that the other woman is truly just that because she was a student of his. Shocking!

No Ironman Sequel for Terence Howard

Don Cheadle will replace Terrence Howard as James "Rhodey" Rhodes in "Iron Man 2". This was a shock to him and everyone else. Rumor has it that it was over a money dispute which Howard denies.

Terrence is currently touring and promoting his new CD of jazz inspired songs. He sings and plays guitar on his new baby, titled "Shine Through It".

Marvel Studios hasn't released a comment yet describing the reasoning behind the change in actors. Cheadle and Howard are a part of the cast of the upcoming "Crash" sequel. Wouldn't you like to be a fly on that set?

See Terrence Howard in "Iron Man" below. This really is a must-see movie!

I AM Sasha Fierce

- iTunes

For her third solo album, Beyoncé not only features the powerful R&B vocals of her own, but also those of her alter-ego Sasha Fierce. The two-sided album will contain more of a classic R&B-jazz sound on Beyoncé's side, while Sasha's hip-hop vibe emulates the sound of her surname. The set is led by singles "If I Were a Boy" and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)," and you'll get the former immediately when you pre-order before the album is released on November 18 on iTunes.

Toni Braxton Ejected from Dancing with the Stars

Toni Braxton will not continue on with the "Dancing with the Stars."

The singer and her professional partner, Alec Mazo, were eliminated Tuesday from ABC's popular dancing competition. The pair received a score of 22 out of 30 from the show's judges during Monday's performance after a less than spectacular West Coast swing. The R&B singer was booted after that score was combined with viewer votes.

Braxton, has coronary microvascular angina and was pleased with her stint on the program. "I wanted to do better. I wanted to breathe better. And I was definitely breathing better. I've come a long way from Week One to Week Now" said Toni.

Celebrities remaining in the competition include TV personality Brooke Burke; singer Lance Bass; former NFL star Warren Sapp; Olympic gold medalist Maurice Greene; actor Cody Linley; and actresses Cloris Leachman and Susan Lucci. Chef Rocco DiSpirito, reality TV star Kim Kardashian, actor Ted McGinley and comedian Jeffrey Ross were previously eliminated.
